Local planning
Long, low rooflines and tall new builds
Memorial has two kinds of houses side by side. There are the original single-story ranch homes on wide lots, with a long, low roofline facing the street. And there are newer, taller homes built where older ones stood, with steep roofs and several roof levels.
They price differently.
On a ranch home, height is not the issue. Length is. A wide single-story front can run more feet of roof edge than a two-story house on a narrower lot, and length is the biggest factor in a lighting quote.
On a tall newer home, the feet may be fewer but each one takes longer to reach. Some high or steep sections may not be something we will light. Our policy: We install on two-story homes, with the roofline reviewed at the estimate and an added charge for second-story work. We decline any roofline section our crew cannot reach safely from a ladder. Tile, slate and metal roofs are limited to gutter-line installation.

Big trees: what we light and what we do not
Memorial is known for its tree cover. Tall pines and oaks stand over many roofs here.
We need to be plain about scope. TruShine lights rooflines and gutters. We do not wrap tree trunks or light canopies, shrubs or beds. If lit trees are the main thing you want, we are not the right installer for that part of the job.
What the trees do mean for us is gutters. Pine needles and oak leaves collect along the same gutter edge the lights run on. Clearing that is our everyday work, and our gutter services crew can handle it before the lights go up.

Deed restrictions
Memorial sits inside the City of Houston, next to several small independent villages. Some neighborhoods here have deed restrictions or a civic association with its own rules. We do not know yours. Check before you book, and tell us if there is a date the lights must be down by.

Packages and price
- Installation: we hang the lights.
- Light Up + Pack Up: we hang them, take them down, and store them. See removal and storage.
Every installation has a $300 base fee. Materials and labor are added to that, priced by the length of roofline you want lit. The cost guide explains the rest.
On a wide ranch home, ask us to price the front roofline first. On a tall home, ask which sections we will and will not light before you compare quotes.
