Service at a glance
What your installation includes
A clear on-site plan
We visit the property, measure the roofline you want lit, review access and outlet locations, and explain any sections we cannot reach safely before you book.
Lights that fit your home
Choose C9, C7 or mini lights in warm white, cool white, red, green, red and white, red and green, or multicolor. TruShine can supply the lights, or install lights you already own.
Clip-on installation and a timer
We use plastic clips made for gutters and shingle edges, with no staples, nails or screws. One outdoor plug-in timer is included with each installation.
Mid-season support
For lights TruShine supplied, repairs are free and we respond within 48 hours. Storm, pet, landscaper or homeowner damage is billed. Repair visits for customer-owned lights are also billed.
Scope and access

What we light
This service is for roofline and gutter-line lighting. It does not include wrapping trees, shrubs, columns or interior spaces. Customers who buy lights from TruShine own them after the installation.
Safe access comes first
We serve residential homes and quote single-story storefronts case by case. Two-story rooflines are reviewed during the estimate and carry an added charge. We decline any section that cannot be reached safely from a ladder. Tile, slate and metal roofs are limited to gutter-line installation.
Safety first
Roofline lighting is ladder work
Holiday decorating can put people on ladders at night, often near roof edges, gutters and electrical cords. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission reported about 14,900 emergency-room-treated holiday-decorating injuries during the 2023 holiday season, with nearly half involving falls.
That is why TruShine limits installation to roofline sections our crew can reach safely from a ladder, avoids ladder work in rain, lightning or high wind, and uses plastic clips instead of staples, nails or screws.
Package comparison

If you do not rebook, you can collect the lights or we will deliver them.
Clear pricing
How pricing and payment work
Every installation has a $300 base fee. Materials and labor are added to that, priced by the length of roofline you want lit.
For customer-owned lights, the price is the $300 base fee plus labor only, with no materials charge. The final quote also reflects:
- The length and layout of the roofline
- One-story or two-story access
- Roof pitch, material and safe ladder placement
- Installation or Light Up + Pack Up
A 50% deposit is required to book. The balance is due after installation, on the day the work is completed. See the full Christmas light installation cost guide for more detail.
What to expect
From estimate to takedown
1. Measure and choose
We inspect the property on site, confirm the roofline, review access and outlets, and help you choose bulb style, color and package.
2. Install and test
The crew installs with plastic clips, connects the included timer and tests the lighting before leaving. You do not need to be home as long as we can access the roofline and a working outdoor outlet.
3. Support or pack up
We provide the applicable mid-season support. Light Up + Pack Up customers are scheduled for January takedown and labeled storage. Learn more about light removal and storage.
Roofline experience
Why TruShine for roofline work
Roofline experience since 2014
Holiday lighting is new for TruShine in 2026, but working at roof edges is not. Our window and gutter service crews already plan ladder placement, protect exterior finishes and work around roofline drainage systems.
An insured, in-house crew
The work is completed by TruShine's insured team rather than handed to an unknown installer. The estimate sets the scope before installation begins.
A service plan built for Houston weather
There is no ladder work in rain, lightning or high wind. Weather-delayed appointments move to the next open day at no charge.

Common questions
Christmas light installation questions
Is the $300 base fee the total price?
No. The $300 base fee is charged on every job. Materials and labor are added based on the length of roofline you want lit, along with the number of stories, roof pitch, access and package you choose.
Can TruShine install lights I already own?
Yes. Customer-owned lights are priced at the $300 base fee plus labor only, with no materials charge. Repair visits for customer-owned lights are billed.
Who owns lights supplied by TruShine?
You buy and own them. TruShine can label and store them between seasons when you choose Light Up + Pack Up.
What is the difference between the two packages?
Both include an on-site estimate, roofline installation and one outdoor timer. Light Up + Pack Up also includes January takedown and labeled off-season storage.
What happens if the lights stop working?
For TruShine-supplied lights, repairs are free and we respond within 48 hours. Damage caused by storms, pets, landscapers or the homeowner is billed. Repair visits for customer-owned lights are billed.
Do you install on two-story homes?
Yes. Second-story work is reviewed at the estimate and carries an added charge. We decline any section that cannot be reached safely from a ladder.
Can you install on tile, slate or metal roofs?
Those roof types are limited to gutter-line installation so the crew does not attach lighting to the roofing surface.
Do I need to be home?
No. We need access to the roofline and a working outdoor outlet.
What happens if the weather is unsafe?
We do no ladder work in rain, lightning or high wind. The appointment moves to the next open day at no charge.
When can I book for the 2026 season?
Installations begin November 1, 2026. The last day to book is December 10, 2026.
